Musharek was officially registered in 2011 with the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Lebanon, bearing the registration number 343/2011. However, its activities commenced prior to 2011 with an initiative called “Partnership for Lebanon,” through a multinational organisation joint effort.
Following the conclusion of this initiative, a grant proposal was submitted to Intel Corporation to ensure sustainability and establish new programmes and partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable development and innovation in Lebanon. The proposal sought to drive social development and education by continuously improving and expanding Musharek’s programmes.
Collaborating with various local and regional partners, Musharek successfully implemented Intel-powered programmes and curricula, with a primary focus on education, higher education, technology, and innovation, which ran several national and international competitions.
Throughout its active years, Musharek built a strong network of stakeholders and ecosystem players across Lebanon, recognising that its mission can only be accomplished through collaborations and partnerships by joining forces to address socio-economic gaps.
In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis, the organisation made the decision to step back, renew its interventions, and prioritise its portfolio. Simultaneously, a new Board of Directors was elected to align with Musharek’s new direction.
Unfortunately, Musharek’s office was severely devastated by the Beirut Blast on August 4th, 2020, leading to the loss of data and files stored on its server.
